I was asked to time-lapse tidal movements for the Race Against Time episode of the BBC series The Hunt (made by Silverback Films). One off the shoots was based down on the Norfolk Wash with Ian McCarthy. I was tasked with capturing the tidal movements over the area over whilst Ian was filming the Knot which gather there in large numbers, the feeding patterns of which are dictated by the tide.

We had a great time working together and when I wasn’t time-lapsing I was helping Ian get into position. We were shooting on the Sony F55.

I was blessed with some great Norfolk skies, this one was a real highlight especially as we were thinking of heading home because the light was so flat. Its always worth staying out……sometimes.

Being across multiple time-lapse cameras became something of the norm, here safely above the outgoing tide. Funnily enough this was a time when there was going to be a partial eclipse in the UK. Halfway through my hours long time-lapse the light suddenly began to drop and I looked around in dismay. I was so engrossed in what I was doing I had forgotten that there was a partial eclipse until I looked at sun which was a slither in the sky.
