I first worked with Ian McCarthy on a series called The Hunt in 2014 and 2015 but I knew of him quite a few yeas before that. Ian had filmed extensively on Frozen Planet, Life In The Freezer, Blue Planet, Life Of Birds  and Planet Earth so I knew his name well, he is considered one of the all time greats in my opinion.

He is extremely passionate about filmmaking and working his own ideas through,  so when we asked me to come and shoot on a personal project of his I leapt at the chance. He had a been commissioned by Terra Mater to make a one hour personal film about the wildlife found in Cornwall in which he follows the lives of the animals around his home in Fowey.

It is a beautifully lyrical film, crafted and honed over months in the field capturing intimate animal behaviour and witnessing dramatic coastal weather.
