Perfect Planet – Aldabra
Aldabra is the worlds second largest coral atoll and it is one of the most unique places I have ever been. Its true haven for wildlife and one place I feel very lucky to have experienced.
I spent a month living on the remote Aldabra Atoll filming the Giant Tortoises that call this unique place home for the BBC + Silverback Films series – A Perfect Planet. It was a real adventure living in a remote field camp at the far northern corner of the Atoll but we had all the mod cons – generator power and rain water showers. What more do you need?
I used a variety of kit to capture the sequence from a traditional long lens set up to isolate characters and details in tandem with a hand held gimbal rig and motion control time-lapse rig to really add dynamic movement to the story of the Tortoises surviving in such a barren and exposed landscape.
